Revokation of rating rights
Please be fair when awarding reputation. The whole purpose of this system is to assess the quality and content of contributions to the community and honor them. Please don't award negative reputation just as a "revenge" for previous reputation you've been awarded.
The system uses several protection mechanisms. Nevertheless, if you break the rules of conduct, the administration/moderation can temporarily or permanently revoke your right to award reputation.
At 
Edit profile -> Settings -> Privacy you can hide your reputation and enable or disable the notification when you've been awarded new reputation. If you hide your reputation and disable the notification, the reputation system is extraneous for you. Even if you can still be awarded reputation, you're anonymous in the public.
